Hi, I’m Luiz and I study Political Science at UZH. I joined MUN UZH at the beginning of last semester, in 2026, after hearing about it at the activity fair. What stood out to me right away were the super interesting topics that are being discussed during the sessions. I especially enjoyed, and still enjoy, learning about new things that I otherwise would‘ve never heard about, be it whistleblower protection rights in Brazil or the health care system of Nigeria.
Beyond the academics, I really enjoy grabing a beer with everyone after the sessions. It‘s a great way the get to know people from outside your faculty and to spend a Wednesday evening. My favourite format is historical crisis, where you role-play a historical figure during pivotal events such as the August Putsch of 1991. It might sound boring, but with university students as delegates, things rarely remain historically accurate.
As Head of Finance, my job is to make sure we don’t go broke and to report our expenses and income at the end of the year. I keep track of transactions, and ensure we stay within budget, while still making space for the fun stuff, such as going to conferences and social events throughout the year.
